Linda Khatir's perspex paintings are like sculptures. Using simple shapes, minimal mark making and reflections, she produces stunning contemplative pieces.
"I continually test and reduce ideas and materials until they acquire authority and clarity. In 'Echoes', coloured reflections and shadows mingle with the architecture in an attempt to elicit an intense visual inquiry. Through a combination and manipulation of minimal means, place, light, viewers' movement and gaze, a quiet and still object may be activated and the psyche stirred."
Linda Khatir graduated from The University of Plymouth with an honours degree in Fine Art in 1998. She has been awarded several grants including the Elmgrant Trust Award, Dartington Hall in 1996 and the Nuffield Foundation Grant in 1994. She has exhibited extensively in great Britain. Public Collections: University of Plymouth. Linda has work in private collections in New York, Europe and UK.
